Pacific Foods sensed
an opportunity to compete in the lactose-free milk category. A new package
configuration they had acquired offered long shelf life in a resealable
container. At retail the package would be positioned next to competing
brands in the refrigerated dairy case, but the Pacific products would
not need refrigeration in transit or in warehouse storage, a plus for
retailers. In addition, this could also be an opportunity to introduce
this market segment to soymilk, the mainstay of the Pacific product line.
The graphics would be fresh with high appetite appeal visuals. The photography
required numerous "sets" of cereal meticulously glued together to create
just the right splash when the milk hit it. No plastic props of splashing
milk here; it is the real thing. All this attention to the details paid
off in the final results.
